Beautiful little showy red dahlia. The name says it all. Introduced in 1994 in New Zealand. Kotare Dahlias was born some 28 years ago, the prefix registered as an international identifier of the breeder. Kotare is the Maori name for the kingfisher, and, if you know the bird, it's full of color.
